I’m a exercise guru. I also work full time and I’m also a student in college. One day I got really sick, and had blurred vision and since I stayed by myself someone had to come pick me up out my bed and take me to the doctor. Several test were ran and that’s when it was discovered I was a diabetic.

What is the weirdest question you’ve been asked about your diabetes, and how did you respond?
Why are you trying to lose weight you look fine the weight you are. My answer is if i want to get my numbers down that’s what I have to do. It’s all about the numbers.

How do you inspire others?
I try to prove to my kids that just because I’m a diabetic I’m still the same person. I just had to change my life style. There is nothing you can’t do if you try hard enough. Yes I’ve had days where my vision has been blurry, or I’ve been dizzy but I alway push through and do my best. At the end of the day I want to live, I’m going to live.

Tell us a story about how diabetes has affected you.
It has changed my way of thinking for sure. Just because a person looks healthy doesn’t mean they are. Every day is a fight but I won’t let it beat me. Education is the key.
