Howdy! I’m Taylor Nicole. I’m 17 years old and I celebrated my 10th year of diabetes on July 7th. I help out in my school and my community teaching those newly diagnosed that life isn’t over, it just began. I try to show everyone diagnosed that you can still be a “normal person” even with a juice in hand for emergencies. Flaunt diabetes and the snacks you get to take into the movie theaters! #diacantbeatthis
Tell us a story about how diabetes has affected you.
Diabetes has pushed me to do more activities that I would’ve never done before just to prove to people I could do it! I was a soccer player in school, a varsity lacrosse goalie and defender, one of the first female golfers to make varsity cuts on an all guys team, and the only diabetic in my school to run in gym and complete the mile without going low. Diabetes taught me how to be stronger than before and stand high even if your number is 24.
Would you rather fight one horse sized duck or 100 regular sized ducks?
