(I am Savannahs mom, I’m writing this for her) My name is Savannah Gregory. I was diagnosed July 13,2016 with T1D… I was scared, but not for long. My baby brother, Peyton Gregory, is was a type one diabetic. I am 5. I am strong.
What is the weirdest question you’ve been asked about your diabetes, and how did you respond?
What gave you diabetes?… LIFE
Has anyone told you that you couldn’t do something due to your diabetes, and you proved them wrong?
Yes, some people said I couldn’t cheer any more… well I signed up anyways.
How do you inspire others?
I stay positive, I live my life the way God intended it… I am my biggest cheerleader.
Tell us a story about how diabetes has affected you.
It has my Savannah realize at a very young age she has to take care of herself even if she doesn’t want to, or feel like it. And that life goes on. You have to put your big girl panties on and face the day.
How has diabetes contributed to forming you into the person you are today? Mentally, physically, or emotionally?
In just the one week that she has been diagnosed, she is more mature then ever.
Would you rather fight one horse sized duck or 100 regular sized ducks?
one horse sized duck…. maybe we could be friends
