I am a Junior in high school striving to succeed. I have had diabetes for almost 15 years. I never let my diabetes get in the way of anything that I want to do. Being diagnosed made a huge impact on my life but is never a bother. I plan on living everyday to the fullest!
How has diabetes contributed to forming you into the person you are today? Mentally, physically, or emotionally?
Diabetes has helped me I ways I never thought it would. I am someone who is always determined and responsible because with diabetes you have to take some responsibility. I am one of the top students in my class when it comes to school. I always make sure that I am working hard and working to my fullest potential. Diabetes has also made me think about what is good for me and what isn’t. For example, when I am playing tennis I always make sure that if I feel that my blood sugar is low, I take a minute and sit out and see if I am okay. It has made a huge impact on me because I have had it for 15 years which is pretty much my entire life and I take charge when it comes to my diabetes.
Would you rather fight one horse sized duck or 100 regular sized ducks?
I would fight one horse sized duck because all the little ones could start attacking you everywhere.
