I was diagnosed on my seventh birthday-March 22, 2005. My life has definitely changed since my diagnosis, but in many ways, for the better. I am a senior in high school this year, with a 4.65 GPA. I have played travel soccer for 10 years, and have been a starter on my high school varsity team since my freshman year. I am in the National Honor Society, National Beta Club, and will be attending college on a full scholarship this coming Fall. I was voted camp counselor of the week at Camp Adam Fisher, South Carolina’s largest camp for children with type 1 diabetes. I attended this camp for the first time as a camper at the age of eight. I plan on majoring in education in college, and hope to be an inspiration in at least one child’s life. I am Rylie, and I have diabetes. It doesn’t have me.
