I’ve had diabetes for over 10 years now. I think it’s important to see the positive in everything so I am always looking for the silver lining with T1D. I have met truly amazing people because of diabetes and getting involved with JDRF. I have been able to talk to kids and teenagers with T1D. Most importantly, I figured out at a young age that I can handle a lot and I can do anything I set my mind to. Diabetes has made me strong. It gives me courage. I want to find a cure and I want it gone forever but until then I will always look for the positive!

How do you inspire others?
Always staying positive. I don’t let diabetes get in the way of my life. I have a full time job. I have a husband. I own my own business. I dance. I do more than the average person does and I do it with a chronic illness. I don’t let people give me excuses when they have something they want to pursue. If I can do it so can you!!

How has diabetes contributed to forming you into the person you are today? Mentally, physically, or emotionally?
I am stronger and braver than I ever thought I could be.

Would you rather fight one horse sized duck or 100 regular sized ducks?
100 regular sized, adorable ducks!
