I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes while pregnant with my second daughter. After I had her I was told my diabetes was gone. Seven months later I took myself to the ER as I was having bad headaches. I was diagnosed type 1 on Christmas Eve 2007 and was given 2 insulin pens and told just to go home and someone would be in touch. After Christmas no one ever called. I now have 4 kids and it took me years to understand that I had diabetes. My last 2 pregnancy’s my diabetes couldn’t be controlled but if it wasn’t for my babies I probably would of given up. They’re my world and the reason why I take my injections and the reason why I never gave up.
