I just turned 15 on august 3rd 2015. I am a high school baseball player. I love the game and the people around me who support me.

What is the weirdest question you’ve been asked about your diabetes, and how did you respond?
The weirdest thing someone has ever asked.. Well there hasn’t been anything really weird. I think once when I was correcting a low blood sugar they said why are you eating that…That’s about it I think.

Has anyone told you that you couldn’t do something due to your diabetes, and you proved them wrong?
Yes they have some people have told me I cant achieve my goal of become a major league ball player for the new York Yankees. I haven’t proved them wrong yet but I will soon :).

How do you inspire others?
I inspire others by telling them life isn’t as bad as you think. I have to deal with giving my shots daily and pricking my self 7 times. I also help people in need. I’ve helped out friends when they needed me the most and they have done the same for me.

Tell us a story about how diabetes has affected you.
When I found out I was a diabetic last Christmas I wasn’t really shocked. I took it as something I’m gonna have to deal with for life. I didn’t freak out or anything. I asked how it happened and they explained. I think diabetes has changed my lifestyle a lot but its something I’m gonna have to deal with for life.

How has diabetes contributed to forming you into the person you are today? Mentally, physically, or emotionally?
Mentally diabetes hasn’t changed me. I’m still the same old person physically. I think I have become healthier since my diagnosis. Emotionally I know that I have to deal with this every day.

Would you rather fight one horse sized duck or 100 regular sized ducks?
100 regular sized ducks.
