Hey. I’m Micalah. And I was diagnosed when I was 11. And at the time my blood sugar was 383. But even after the diagnosis I didn’t let type 1 stop me. I now play volleyball, basketball, and run track. And I love my life. But I was still struggling to accept the fact that I had type 1 diabetes. But that all changed when I met my best friend @grace_love_peace at a summer camp for diabetics. We got to talking about how we could bring awareness for type 1. At first we thought it was impossible because #1 we don’t have any money and #2 we are “too young” in the eyes of society. Finally we came up with the idea to make @t1d_squad. An account to support people with type one and bring awareness to type 1. It would mean a lot if you all would follow @t1d_squad to show your support. Thank you for letting me share my story!
What is the weirdest question you’ve been asked about your diabetes, and how did you respond?
This one girl asked me if I could eat chocolate and I said yes and she was surprised and I just laughed.
Would you rather fight one horse sized duck or 100 regular sized ducks?
100 regular sized ducks
