I was diagnosed at 10. Back then I really didn’t think much. My dad has type one and I knew I would just have to take shots like him. Oh but it’s so much more. It’s not easy day in and day out. No off days. Teenage years would be hard work hormones and highs and lows. Always thinking about it and making sure I had some form of sugar in case of a low while you’re out on a date.
Now adulthood I’m married and wanting to start a family and a diabetic pregnancy isn’t easy- lots of planning and close checks on that blood sugar. It’s now not just about me… It’s about that little one that will be growing inside me soon. But I will say I am so much stronger because of diabetes.
I’m a fighter and a believer. Stay strong all my T1D family 😘💙
