I am a 29 year old very active mother of 3 wonderful boys. I am loving, caring and motivated to be the best person I can be.
What is the weirdest question you’ve been asked about your diabetes, and how did you respond?
Someone once asked me if the marks on my arms and legs are due to drug use! In public… In front of my kids!!!
Has anyone told you that you couldn’t do something due to your diabetes, and you proved them wrong?
Definitely! I hear it all the time. Dr’s advised me against having another baby and I had my third son. They told me I shouldn’t exercise too hard but I’m doing crossfit!
How do you inspire others?
I inspire others by motivating them to fulfill their dreams. I am always the one to to help motivate someone to pursue their talents. I share my story of my diabetes and I am not ashamed of it! I show people that no matter what life has dealt you, you can rise above it all!!
Tell us a story about how diabetes has affected you.
Diabetes has affected me more positive than it has negatively. I used to be overweight and horribly teased but now that I am forces to take care of myself, I don’t have that problem anymore. I weigh less now than I did before I had my children. It definitely takes more planning and diabetes is NOT easy! Its HARD!!! But it has showed me that I am capable to take control of my life no matter what the consequences.
How has diabetes contributed to forming you into the person you are today? Mentally, physically, or emotionally?
Mentally, Emotionally and Physically I am stronger, I am healthier. Physically I lost 25kg and I’m healthy. Emotionally and Mentally I am so much stronger! I have proven to myself that I can do this, I will not be defeated!!
Would you rather fight one horse sized duck or 100 regular sized ducks?
1 Horse sized duck!
