After getting diagnosed with Diabetes I struggled for years with taking insulin properly. I was one of the rare cases were insulin would actually make me retain water and stretch my skin to the point of unbearable pain. In result, I would withhold the insulin I needed. This turned into what was called diabulimia. After years of struggle and a LOT of scary moments and weeks in the hospital, I have finally come to terms with my diabetes. Although I lowered my A1C from the high 14’s to 6.9, I have been diagnosed with retinopathy and neuropathy in my feet. It is still a daily struggle but I am proud of where I started my journey and where I am today.
