I play softball and volleyball and this is my freshman year. Last year I shattered my nose and had to have surgery and just 3 weeks ago I tore my ACL and meniscus so I had surgery right after Christmas!

What is the weirdest question you’ve been asked about your diabetes, and how did you respond?
Do you have a huge hole in your stomach or something!?

I simply responded no and said learn what diabetes is😂

Has anyone told you that you couldn’t do something due to your diabetes, and you proved them wrong?
People said I couldn’t eat cake so one day at school it was someone’s birthday and they decided to bring cake. I ate 2 pieces.

How do you inspire others?
Lots of people tell me I’m really strong for going through everything I’ve been through. And yes that’s true but they would be too if they were given t1d.

Tell us a story about how diabetes has affected you.
I don’t like to think that it has affected me. It’s allowed me to make new friends and have new experiences.

How has diabetes contributed to forming you into the person you are today? Mentally, physically, or emotionally?
I’d say it really has changed me in all ways. I’m more mature and I’m very aggressive in sports.

Would you rather fight one horse sized duck or 100 regular sized ducks?

100 ducks.
