I love to help others. I’m a generally happy person all the time. Diabetes has taught me to not judge a book by its cover and learn to be empathetic.
Has anyone told you that you couldn’t do something due to your diabetes, and you proved them wrong?
Heck yea! Some years ago I was in the boy scouts and we would go on week long hiking trips way up in the Sierra mountains every year. Someone told me I probably couldn’t do it. I went to every single hike…
How do you inspire others?
SMILING! A positive change always starts with a positive mind set. I support all my friends and family in all of their goals. I always try to instill confidence and reassure all my loved ones they’re beautiful and I wouldn’t change them for the world!
How has diabetes contributed to forming you into the person you are today? Mentally, physically, or emotionally?
Diabetes has taught me mentally to be kind to everyone because you never know what they’re going through. Physically it has shown me humans are frail beings and life could be taken at any time. It’s also taught me self control. Emotionally diabetics are some of the strongest people in this universe. We carry on every day with things most of the world could never imagine.
Would you rather fight one horse sized duck or 100 regular sized ducks?
One horse sized duck. It’s a bigger target….
