I was diagnosed in June of 2013, on Friday the 13th when I was 13. Who said 13 was an unlucky number 😉
Tell us a story about how diabetes has affected you.
When I was diagnosed I lost most if my friends. I think it was mostly because they were scared of the condition more than anything and they didn’t really know what to say to me. Over time I have slowly made new, better friends who I know will stick by me through anything.
How has diabetes contributed to forming you into the person you are today? Mentally, physically, or emotionally?
Having diabetes has made me more aware that I need to live life to the fullest. Before I was diagnosed I was a super quiet person and would pass up opportunities if I was unsure about them but I have come to realize that anything can happen in life and you need to make sure you grab ever opportunity you can because you never know what could happen tomorrow.
Would you rather fight one horse sized duck or 100 regular sized ducks?
100 regular sized ducks.
