I was diagnosed with type 1 just before going on a gap year to the UK! I now have a masters in Economics with first class from the University of Waikato and work at the New Zealand Treasury.

What is the weirdest question you’ve been asked about your diabetes, and how did you respond?
Can I catch it? I said yes and then laughed and corrected them.

How do you inspire others?
I have now completed 3 half marathons and I am trying to reach my goal of getting under 2 hours! It is a bit stressful with type 1 but I don’t let it hold me back!

How has diabetes contributed to forming you into the person you are today? Mentally, physically, or emotionally?
It has made me realize life is too short not to be happy and make the most of everything! We are not here for a long time but a good time!

Would you rather fight one horse sized duck or 100 regular sized ducks?
100 regular ducks
