Emily

I’m just a soccer player who loves bacon!!!

Has anyone told you that you couldn’t do something due to your diabetes, and you proved them wrong?
My mom told me I couldn’t play soccer or any physical sports. I now drag race, play soccer, basketball, and run track!!!

Tell us a story about how diabetes has affected you.
Before I was diagnosed, I used to think people with diseases or a lack of  mental ability  were weird and kinda scared me….. now I think to myself “you don’t know what they’re going through. Accept them. Be friends with them. You never know the person on the inside until you find out.”

How has diabetes contributed to forming you into the person you are today? Mentally, physically, or emotionally?
Diabetes has pushed (and dragged) me through so much… the occasional feeling of hopelessness and the constant want to be normal. All of this has brought me to work harder physically to stay in shape and prove the “fat kid w/ diabetes” stereotypes wrong. We’ve probably fought harder than most people have and know from experience that we can achieve what we want.

Would you rather fight one horse sized duck or 100 regular sized ducks?
100 regular sized ducks!!
