I am a 23 year old T1 diabetic with a passion for wellbeing and inspiring the diabetic community. I am currently getting my yoga teacher certification and my vision is use the gift of yoga to prove to the world that T1’s are badass warriors who CAN do anything!

How do you inspire others?
I inspire others through the teaching of yoga. Yoga does so much for individuals, being emotional, physical or mental. Living with diabetes is no walk in the park, but having my daily yoga practice has helped tremendously. My vision is to give that same fulfillment to others, diabetics or not. I want to be a light for the diabetic community and on.

How has diabetes contributed to forming you into the person you are today? Mentally, physically, or emotionally?
When I was diagnosed at 20 years old I thought it was a prison sentence. In a way, poking and prodding your way through life is, but diabetes for me was actually a gift. I found my uniqueness, “super power”, if you will. I found out that I am a warrior and can face anything life throws at me. I found out that I’m actually not terrified of needles, like I told myself for so long. Diabetes started a fire within me and ever since I’ve been finding myself more and more.

Would you rather fight one horse sized duck or 100 regular sized ducks?
I would fight one horse sized duck because 100 ducks would be terrifying coming after you
