I am a Christian, A Husband, A Father of 4 and a T1 Diabetic. I love to workout, run and be outdoors and grill/cook healthy foods. I was first diagnosed in June of 2013 after having all the signs and symptoms of diabetes. I was not the “typical” diabetic according to general public conceptuin. At 6’6″ #240 muscular and in shape everyone said you dont look like a diabetic; but I was. There is a long family history and I knew what I had before the official doctors diagnosis. Although I knew about it, I was not prepared for the mental and physical strain it put on me. It causes you to rethink your whole life and adjusting is a constant battle. The fight becomes easier after a while but the mental battle is never won. I understand why people want to give up but let me encourage everyone of you! You are not alone! I appreciate the faces of diabetes for their hard work in connecting a big diabetic support family all across the Globe.
