When I was first diagnosed with diabetes I wasn’t really sure what that meant. . . I mean I was only 8 years old. What I did know was that I couldn’t eat chips or drink grape soda like I used to. I started to realized that my life had changed when I would walk to the nurses office to get my shots and everyone would look at me like I was a freak but that only showed me to embrace the gift that God has given me. Of course it took me a while to realized the change but it didn’t stop me. So, here we are about 12 years later and I’m still alive. I’m showing everyone that it’s a everyday challenge but a challenge that I’ve accepted and learned to appreciate. Only God can help me and show me the way. And for all the diabetics type 1 or 2 we are warriors and we will conquer this! Together we are one.
