Hi my name is Chris Ruden and you might’ve come across a few of my videos on YouTube or Instagram showing me lifting 600 pounds as a type one diabetic and amputee. Or maybe this is your first time hearing about me!
I was born with two fingers on my left hand and a shorter left arm. Doctors told me I would never be able to do much but I’ve never been one to really “abide by the rules” so I learned to adapt and overcome my adversity through fitness and behavior modification.
Life wasn’t done with me and felt I needed type one diabetes as well! So now I get to wear a cool beeper-like insulin pump everywhere.
Probably one of the few people that is thankful for my adversity and diabetes because without it I wouldn’t be where I am today physically or mentally.
I became a speaker to help people understand that all limitations are self-imposed. From leading a multimillion dollar company in sales to assisting a 11-year-old with cerebral palsy run on the beach for the first time to life coaching high-priority upper management, i’ve learned how to help people motivate themselves in order to expose their potential and their true ability to succeed at whatever they decide.
I am releasing a clothing line and donating 100% profit to Faces of Diabetes from the first run of shirt sales! The shirts are available on July 28th at kottonzoo.com/chris-ruden/
How do you inspire others?
I show people that limitations are self imposed through fitness and motivational speaking. I’ve spoken at a variety of diabetic events and love inspiring people to never quit.
