I have had diabetes for a while now. I was in DKA when I was diagnosed and in the hospital for three days. I was medically home bound for two weeks and haven’t gone back into DKA. I have decent A1C numbers after my diagnosis. But I’m not gonna lie diabetes is hard to live!
What is the weirdest question you’ve been asked about your diabetes, and how did you respond?
Q : How did you kill your pancreas?*
A: dead silence
Has anyone told you that you couldn’t do something due to your diabetes, and you proved them wrong?
People have told me I couldn’t eat sugar, but I ate twix and kit-kats in front of them :p then showed them my insulin and educated.
How do you inspire others?
I never let anyone see if I’m upset at school if I’m upset I laugh to hide it and keep a smile so I don’t become a boring downer.
How has diabetes contributed to forming you into the person you are today? Mentally, physically, or emotionally?
I get upset when I see something with high carbs but it also makes me happy I have no choice but to watch my weight
Would you rather fight one horse sized duck or 100 regular sized ducks?
A horse sized duck you could always grab on to it’s neck and hold the pressure point that makes you pass out.
