I live in Iceland with my boyfriend and his father. I just quit my job to try to finish school and get a degree in working with children. I love video games, especially adventure and those with puzzles. Me and my boyfriend love taking our truck and traveling around the mountains, especially in the snow.
What is the weirdest question you’ve been asked about your diabetes, and how did you respond?
Q: is it infectious?
A: Nooo… It’s not.
Funny story behind it is I took a sip of pepsi max from my friend and she didn’t want to finish it because she thought it was infectious. She even called me in the middle of class.
How do you inspire others?
By being happy and spreading the joy! Laughter is infectious and so is a smile 🙂
Tell us a story about how diabetes has affected you.
It made me think about how life can be taken away so abruptly and how fast it passes away so you have to enjoy every moment you can without anything stopping you. I had a month left to live when I got diagnosed so … Yeah 🙂
How has diabetes contributed to forming you into the person you are today? Mentally, physically, or emotionally?
Even though I fight for my survival every day, nothing can stop me! I’m a better person because I have to live 3 times as hard as everyone else and I make it through every day. It’s not easy but it has to be done!
Would you rather fight one horse sized duck or 100 regular sized ducks?
