Type one diabetes is not a disease I would wish upon anyone. I wouldn’t wish any disease upon anyone. I was just the lucky goose to get picked. I feel like have this disease gives me a purpose. I feel like I was put on this earth to show those who are suffering that they can survive.

What is the weirdest question you’ve been asked about your diabetes, and how did you respond?
“You give yourself shots, and do that little picky thing that makes your finger bleed? Does it make you cry? Omg and you have a tube sticking out of your body! Does that make you feel like a robot?”
-I do all and I do not cry and I do not have a tube sticking out of my body, I have an infusion site that is in my body, and I do not feel like a robot I feel more like a normal human being with a pump rather than injections

Has anyone told you that you couldn’t do something due to your diabetes, and you proved them wrong?
Everyone thinks I can’t eat ANY type of sugar. No candy, no chips, etc. I always prove them wrong with good blood sugar levels after eating sugary items.

How do you inspire others?
I try to stay as positive as possible and show people that there is light in every dark situation. Life is about prospering and doing the best not sitting around and taking the easy way out.

Tell us a story about how diabetes has affected you.
It’s effected me negatively and positively. I was always negative, wanting it to disappear but I have grown into loving my disease because it’s made me become the person I am today and I would never change that

Would you rather fight one horse sized duck or 100 regular sized ducks?
One horse sized duck. Fight the challenge as a whole with all your strength. You push to your full extent no matter how many of how strong they may be. Only you can determine your strength.
